I quickly learned at a young age that I love the flute and have had amazing experiences since then that have shown me how to perform joyfully and confidently.
I know what it's like to
lack confidence in your playing (especially if other humans are around).
feel the pressure of needing to "look good" and impress others all the time (all-state band, anyone?).
become overwhelmed by comparison and perfectionism.
feel like you'd rather do ANYTHING but practice the flute (procrastinators - I got you).
I know because I've been there.
And I know it doesn't have to be this way!
As a flutist and music educator, I have the joy of wearing many hats as an elementary music teacher, private flute teacher, and sectional coach. My experience with little ones all the way up to pre-college flutists allows me to help young, aspiring flute players reach their goals.
I believe everyone is capable of greatness on their own terms - and I can't wait to help you get there!
Welcome to my studio based in Louisville, Kentucky! When my students learn to play the flute from a place of joy and confidence, they're able to kick butt and take names! My students perform multiple times a year, participate in honor bands, set goals with me, and more.
One of my greatest joys is performing with friends and other artists in the area. I love playing in flute ensembles, orchestra, concert band settings, and solo flute music. No matter what setting I'm in, playing the flute with other humans is one of my favorite things!
